I'm New
A Warm Welcome from the Rector
Welcome to Grace Church in beautiful Waynesville, NC. The natural beauty of the mountains inspires our worship in the “beauty of holiness” both within and beyond our church’s walls.
People from various walks of life gather around a common desire: to become ever more open to God’s transforming Grace. In our parish you’ll find retirees seeking new places to express their gifts, young families juggling careers and children, households of six and households of one, cradle Episcopalians and those who are seeking and finding comfort in the ancient liturgies of the Church and story of our faith.
While we come together each Sunday for worship, throughout the week we are busy being Christ’s hands and feet in the world.
Come join us!
What to Expect on Sunday
First, expect to be welcomed! Hospitality is important to us.
Worship in our church follows the ancient Christian tradition.
- The first half of our service we focus on God’s Word through listening to Scripture, reciting a Psalm, and hearing the sermon.
- The second half of the service we respond to God’s Word through our prayer and participation in Holy Communion. Communion is also called The Lord’s Supper, the Mass, and commonly in our church The Holy Eucharist.
Our bulletin offers guidance as you worship, but you can also ask someone sitting next to you for guidance. At first, the liturgy can feel a little overwhelming but over time we find its beauty and structure to offer support and meaning for our lives.
Children are always welcome at any service. We also provide nursery care from 9:15 until 11:45.
Episcopalian Beliefs
We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.
As Episcopalians, we believe in and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.
The Episcopal Church embraces a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; people of all genders and sexual orientations serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy work together in leadership and governance.
We believe the Holy Scriptures contain all things necessary for our salvation and that the sacraments convey God’s grace to us in a trustworthy manner.

Parking and Directions
We are located in the heart of downtown Waynesville, North Carolina.
We are just two blocks away from Main Street. We have parking available in front of our church, behind the church (which is accessible off of Miller Street). Many people also park for free in the Town of Waynesville public lot diagonally across from the church at the intersection of N. Haywood and Miller Streets.
Membership
All are welcome to discern membership in our parish!
We offer Episcopal Church 101 classes on a regular basis. To become a member, simply talk with the rector. We expect members to worship here regularly and support God’s ministry here through gifts of time, talent, and treasure. We commit to loving you, nurturing your relationship with Christ, and caring for you in life’s ups and downs.
